E-business

E-business means electronic business. E-business is using technologies to improve your business processes. It is the term used to describe the information system and applications that support and drive business processes most often using web technologies. This includes managing, internal processes such as human resources, financial and administration system as well as external processes such as sales and marketing, supply of goods and services and of course, customer relationship. It allows companies to link their internal and external processes more efficiently and effectively and work more closely with suppliers and partner to better satisfy on better expectation of their customer, leading to improvement in overall business performances.

Activities which E-business includes are trading of goods or services online through websites, electronic retailing (e-Tailing), Use of internet, intranet to manage business activities, website marketing, online communication through e-mails and also training of staff online by e-learning.

Advantages of e-business is that it improves product promotion through effective e-marketing. It reduces travel and communication cost using online meeting tools. It increases sale through effective deployment of e-commerce technologies (e-commerce is the process of buying, transferring and exchanging product services information via computer networks including the internet.) . E-business includes tools like mobile phones, PDA i.e. Personal Digital Assistant, electronic data interchange, file transfer, video transferring internet, intranet and extra nets. It strengthened marketing capabilities and reach. It reduces the cost of starting a new business. It is also very helpful in getting payments from the customers online by using online banking and it also reduces stationary and postage costs.

E-business also has great security risks like other business system, therefore, it is important for e-business system to be fully protected against their risks. Hackers are one of the great threats to the security of e-business. Some common security concerns for e-business includes keeping business and customer information, private and confidential, authenticity of data and data integrity. Security of e-business also includes physical security measures as well as data storage, data transmission, antivirus software etc.
